The Sky Sports pundit is predicting a 1-1 draw - which will see Boro promoted.

Ian Holloway has been predicting the weekend’s football in the Football League – including the massive Championship promotion clash.

Middlesbrough welcome Brighton to the Riverside tomorrow knowing that if they avoid defeat they will be promoted to the Premier League.

The Sky Sports pundit and former Blackpool boss has predicted that Middlesbrough will do enough to end their seven-year exile from the top-flight.

Holloway is predicting a 1-1 draw between the two teams, which will see Boro promoted to the top-flight on goal difference.

Here is what he had to say about the fixture in his column on Sky Sports:

“I can honestly tell you I don't know which way it's going to go. I don't know who's going to handle the pressure of it that well. I urge the Middlesbrough supporters to get right behind your team. I know they want it really badly and it's been a long time since they dropped out of the top flight.

“The game will be won or lost in the nerves and who can play the occasion. Who can go through the process rather than be caught up in the emotion of the game.

“Middlesbrough got the chance to put the play-off final from last season behind them. Will that carry into this year? I hope not, but I can't wait to see and the atmosphere will be something else.”

Middlesbrough and Brighton are currently level on points but the side from the North-East have a goal difference advantage that currently places them in second place – with Burnley already promoted to the top flight for next season at the first attempt.

It would be massive for Middlesbrough if they could secure a place back in the Premier League after a tumultuous season that has seen vast sums of money spent and the manager walk out on the squad temporarily.

Boro fans will be hoping that Holloway’s prediction comes true.
