West Ham United will move to the Olympic Stadium in the summer.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has revealed on social networking site Twitter that he supports safe standing.

The Hammers will leave the Boleyn Ground at the end of the season and will move to the Olympic Stadium in the summer.

Gold has suggested that in the future, West Ham could have safe standing in their new home ground.

The Englishman made the revelation in response to a West Ham fans pointing out that Scottish Premiership club Celtic are going to introduce a safe standing area at Celtic Park from next season.

West Ham are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 59 points from 35 matches.

The London outfit are still in the running for a top-four finish in the league, although it is more likely that they will end up in an Europa League place.

The Hammers will take on Swansea City at the Boleyn Ground in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
