Andy Gray predicts Sunderland and Newcastle games

Sunderland Gates

Sunderland will face Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend, while Newcastle United will take on Aston Villa.

Andy Gray has predicted on Paddypower.com that Sunderland will win against Chelsea this weekend.

Sunderland will take on Chelsea at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Black Cats are in desperate needs of three points, as they continue their quest to stave off relegation to the Championship at the end of the season.

Former Aston Villa and Everton striker Gray believes that the Black Cats will win the encounter.

The former Scotland has also backed Newcastle United to win their Premier League match this weekend.

Newcastle, who are also in danger of going down to the Championship, will take on already relegated Villa away from home at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.

“Sunderland are my favourites to stay up,” Gray wrote on Paddypower.com. “Big Sam has them determined and playing well. This could be the result that relegates Norwich. I just don’t know what kind of Chelsea will turn up, but it won’t matter.”

A footnote added: “Andy’s bet: Sunderland win at 9/5.”

“This is the biggest game Newcastle United have had in years,” Gray added on the match between Villa and Newcastle. “I have them down to win. It’s Villa’s last league game at Villa Park as Premier League club. It could be easily be in front of an empty ground. Benitez has the Magpies on a positive run. Go for the Magpies.”

A footnote added: “Andy’s bet: Newcastle win at 4/6.”

With Chelsea having nothing to play for, Sunderland will fancy their chances of winning against last season’s Premier League champions.

Newcastle will also consider themselves favourites against Villa, but the Villans could prove to be tough as they are at home and will want to give their fans something to cheer about.
