Luka Modric was once again outstanding for Real Madrid last night, helping them to their second Champions League final in three seasons.
The Croatian seems to get better with each and every season, showing that Real picked up a bargain when they bought him from Tottenham in 2012 for £30 million.
Former Spurs striker Clive Allen was impressed with his performance, arguing that there is simply nobody better.
Luke Modric best midfield player in the world— Clive Allen (@Clive_Allen9) May 4, 2016
Modric completed 88 per cent of his passes, recording one shot on target and touching the ball 86 times as Madrid edged to a 1-0 aggregate victory over Manchester City.
Real face Atletico Madrid in the final, as they did in 2014 when Modric won his first Champions League medal, along with Gareth Bale, who also featured last night, creating two chances and attempting three shots.
The pair are huge assets to Real Madrid, as you would hope at a combined price of around £115 million, but on the other side of the coin, it is fascinating to consider just how fantastic a side Tottenham would be if their former players returned.
There is less chance of Modric heading back than Bale, but his talents are still highly regarded at White Hart Lane by fans who watched him for four seasons, in which he helped the team reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
Here is a look at how supporters reacted to Modric's performance...

Modric is my favourite former Spurs player, the weight of his pass is always perfect. He once had a 100% pass completion in a Classico win— Warren (@Warren_Early) May 4, 2016
