Christian Eriksen is reportedly on the verge of signing a new five-year deal at Tottenham.
According to the Daily Mail, Christian Eriksen is set to sign a new contract with the club, and will earn a whopping £80,000-a-week in that new deal.
Eriksen, 24, was considered to be one of Europe's top young talents during his days with Ajax, and after hitting 32 goals in 162 games for the Dutch giants, he moved on to Tottenham in 2013.
The Danish international has been a key part of Tottenham's success this season, and now he looks set to be rewarded for his fine performances under Mauricio Pochettino.
The Daily Mail report that Eriksen is poised to sign a new four-and-a-half year deal until 2020, committing his long-term future to Tottenham having already spent three years at the club.
It's claimed that Eriksen's new deal will be worth a whopping £80,000-a-week, putting him alongside the likes of Erik Lamela, Mousa Dembele and Hugo Lloris, who allegedly earn in excess of £70,000-a-week right now.
Given his superb performances ever since arriving from Ajax, Eriksen has proven himself worthy of a pay rise, and this new deal should fend off any other teams who could be interested in signing the attacking midfielder during this summer's transfer window.
