Could Walter Zenga be the next head coach at Leeds?
Leeds United fans have expressed mixed views and trepidation amidst reports Massimo Cellino is considering hiring Walter Zenga as the club's next head coach.
Current boss Steve Evans' position remains in doubt, with Cellino so far refusing to state whether he will be chosen to carry on next year.
Italian website Tuttomercatoweb reported this week that Zenga, currently available, is a possible replacement for the Scot.
Zenga may be well known due to his exploits with the Italian national team as a player, but his record as a coach is more concerning, with 15 managerial jobs already under his belt, failing to achieve stability with any of his sides.
Stability is exactly what Leeds need, and have lacked under Massimo Cellino, with Steve Evans the sixth coach to work at Elland Road under the Italian.
Zenga's appointment would indicate that Cellino has not learned this lesson, and wants to gamble rather than allow Evans the chance to progress, and give him a full summer transfer window, which he has not had after being appointed mid-season.
Leeds ace Mirco Antenucci has even played under Zenga previously at Catania, but he could be on his way out anyway, with his contract set to expire.
Here is a look at how Leeds fans reacted to the speculation...
Zenga could be an interesting choice at #lufc.. Great player but falls out with owners alot. Got canned by Farrero at samp pretty quick— Matt (@MWJS82) May 3, 2016
To be honest Zenga doesn't get me excited, set piece focus and a rather negative way of playing suggests he wouldn't be for MC either #lufc— CellinoIn (@CellinoIn) May 4, 2016
Walter Zenga reportedly being lined up by Leeds to replace Steve Evans. No thanks. Could maybe give Silvestri a few tips though..— Lucas (@ffsBotaka) May 3, 2016
