Leeds defender is claimed to be struggling with illness.

Leeds defender Giuseppe Bellusci could miss the final game of the season, head coach Steve Evans has explained.

The Italian centre-back missed Thursday's training session with illness, Evans told BBC Radio Leeds, and Evans is not certain that he will be part of the squad.

Ross Turnbull and Mustapha Carayol are already ruled out with injury, although Evans hopes Bellusci will recover.

Evans said: "We are hopeful Pepe Bellusci will recover from the little virus that affected him today, he missed the session. If he's back available then we have everybody available bar Ross and Mustapha."

Bellusci may not be starting in any case, losing his place in the side after a couple of game costing errors, and has not featured since April 16.

A day before his virus caused him to miss a training session, he posted a message on Twitter displaying a graphic with various statistics, labelled in Italian, which led to plenty of criticism from supporters in response, who feel he has not been good or consistent enough.

Bellusci, 26, has two years remaining on his contract at Leeds United.
