Kenny Jackett explains decision to drop Wolverhampton Wanderers star

Kortney Hause has been disciplined by Wolves.

Kenny Jackett has explained his decision to drop Kortney Hause for Wolverhampton Wanderers' last two fixtures, the Express & Star reports.

Hause started nine games in a row before last week's home draw with Rotherham, but was benched for the Millers clash and appeared for the final 21 minutes of Saturday's trip to Nottingham Forest.

Jackett confirmed the 20-year-old has been disciplined by the club for leaking next season's kits on social media - but stressed that was not the reason for his removal from the starting lineup.

"It wasn’t related (to the leaked kits incident)," Jackett told the Express & Star. "That was just me wanting to have a look at Dominic Iorfa and Danny Batth (at centre-half) long term, see where they were as a pair.

"And also to give Sylvain Deslandes a chance (at left-back), and a taste, and to see exactly where he was."

Hause has endured a stop-start campaign following a productive first year at Molineux, which led to his inclusion in Gareth Southgate's England Under-21 set up.

The 2014 capture from Wycombe Wanderers spent over three months on the sidelines before his return to the side in February.

He signed a new long-term contract shortly after and his recent form has attracted interest from FA Cup finalists Crystal Palace, according to a report in the Mirror last week.

Wolves, who can still finish in the Championship's top half if results go their way, end the campaign at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
