Spurs have virtually guaranteed a place in next season's group stage.
Hugo Lloris is confident that Tottenham Hotspur have the potential to make a major impression in next season's Champions League, despite many of their squad having no previous experience in the competition, the London Evening Standard reports.
Mauricio Pochettino's men have virtually guaranteed themselves a spot in the group stage of the competition as they currently have a six-point cushion over Manchester City with just two games to play.
And while the Frenchman is aware that the squad will be going into the competition with very little knowledge regarding what it takes to shine on that particular stage, he insisted that the side have the ability to do well.
"We will try to be competitive in all of them. Of course it will be new to a lot of the team but we have the talent and the energy to do great things in the Champions League."
Spurs can take a tremendous amount of encouragement from the club's previous Champions League campaign where they topped their group and went on to reach the quarter-finals before being knocked out by Real Madrid.
With Pochettino's men proving to be the last team standing that could have denied Leicester City the Premier League title, it is perhaps fair to say that while they do not have Gareth Bale in their squad like last time, their squad may be in a much stronger position this time around, which should benefit their chances of making the mark on next season's competition that Lloris is confident they are capable of making.
