The Tottenham star has missed out on a Premier League title.
At the start of the season it is hard to imagine that Dele Alli predicted his season going the way it has.
The Tottenham Hotspur talent has thrived since linking up with the club permanently in the summer. Now a regular in the starting XI, an England international and PFA Young Player of the Year it has been a season to remember for Alli.
He has certainly come a long way from Milton Keynes Dons – which is where he first made his name.
This week his former boss Karl Robinson has been speaking about the Premier League title. The MK Dons boss admitted being happy that Leicester had won the title, but also made it clear he was gutted for Alli. He told One MK:
"Claudio has been my favourite individual to watch in the Premier League and a joy to watch.
"I'm disappointed that Tottenham didn't win it for Dele obviously but you don't always get what you want and I don't think anybody in the world wouldn't stand up and applaud what Leicester have done.
"It was an amazing achievement."
Of course the Spurs midfielder is still fondly revered at the Stadium:mk, as a beacon for their excellent youth academy which has also produced the likes of Brendan Galloway and Sheyi Ojo.
Hopefully one day in the future Robinson will be able to watch Alli guide Spurs to a Premier League title and remember the role he played in his stunning development.
