Carragher reacts on Twitter to Liverpool win, highlights outstanding Emre Can

Liverpool are into the Europa League final.

Liverpool are into the Europa League final after beating Villarreal 3-1 on aggregate.

The 3-0 win overturned a 1-0 first leg loss, and leaves the club just one game from Champions League qualification.

Former defender Jamie Carragher has had his say on the result, and has picked out Emre Can for his performance, labelling him 'outstanding'.

Can has benefitted since Jurgen Klopp was appointed, being selected in his midfield position, as opposed to being played in defence as he was this time last year by previous boss Brendan Rodgers.

The 22-year-old completed 85.5 per cent of his passes against Villarreal, also registering one shot on target.

He made four tackles, more than any Liverpool player on the night, also making four interceptions which was again a team high.

Liverpool have been crying out for a player to replace Steven Gerrard, and while Can has a long way to go, there are encouraging signs that he can go some way to filling the void, and may soon be lifting a European trophy.
