Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been quoted by The Mirror as saying that he thinks Liverpool have a great chance of beating Villarreal this evening.
The Reds have enjoyed a superb Europa League campaign so far, and after coming from behind to beat Borussia Dortmund in the last round, many fans felt confident heading into their semi-final matchup with Spanish side Villarreal.
However, Jurgen Klopp's men lost 1-0 in Spain last week, with Adrian Lopez scoring a last-gasp goal to hand Marcelino's side the win.
Tonight, the two sides meet again at Anfield, with Liverpool still being favoured, as many believe that they will be able to come through in another great European night at Anfield.
Now, former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has given his view on the game, looking back at the club he left in October 2015.
Rodgers, as quoted by The Mirror, suggested that Liverpool have a great chance of winning the game - and highlighted the Anfield crowd as a possible factor.
Liverpool fans have been praised for their support on big European nights, and Rodgers believes they will push the Reds into the final this evening.
"I think they have a great chance," said Rodgers. "[Villarreal] are one-nil up, they [Liverpool] will be disappointed to concede late on but going back to Anfield with only one goal to make up, they've got every chance of getting through. The Anfield support is incredible so I'm sure they'll really push them into the final."
