Liverpool host Villarreal in the second leg of their Europa League semi final clash this evening.
They are currently trailing in the game after a late winner from the Spaniard’s saw them win the first leg 1-0.
Many are predicting that they will turn that around in another magical evening at Anfield like they enjoyed against Borussia Dortmund.
Marcelino though, has warned that the atmosphere will only help to boost his side too.
“It is a real pleasure to play here,” the Liverpool Echo reports him saying.
“This group of players needs to be proud of what they have achieved as we are already qualified for the Champions League.”
“This is an occasion to be celebrated. In no way whatsoever will we be affected negatively by the atmosphere, if anything we will be affected positively and galvanised by it.”
There is no denying that at 1-0 the tie is very much in the balance and Liverpool have the ability to come back and win the game.
Much is likely to rest on who Jurgen Klopp elects to choose as his striker, with many believing Daniel Sturridge has to start for them to progress.
Villarreal should not be underestimated by any means though considering they are a top four side in La Liga, and the Reds will need more than just Sturridge to ensure their progression to the final.
