Former Manchester City talent wished his old side well.
Manchester City were knocked out of the Champions League last night by Real Madrid, losing 1-0 on aggregate.
They were unable to take the game to Zinedine Zidane's side, who defended well and deserved to go through on balance over two legs, with City simply unable to get their attacking game going.
Reaching the Champions League semi-final is an achievement in comparison to previous seasons, even though there is a feeling of frustration among fans at not giving a better showing against Real.
Former Manchester City academy talent Rony Lopes commented on Twitter after the game, stating that he was proud of his old side.
Good luck to Atleti and Real. It will be a great final. Congrats to @MCFC for the european campaign. I'm proud of my friends!— Rony Lopes (@Rony10Lopes) May 4, 2016
Lopes was a player City fans had hoped would be featuring for them by now after impressive displays for the development squad a few years back.
After being sent out on loan to Lille last season, Manuel Pellegrini decided to sell the Portuguese youth international to Monaco.
Lopes, 20, was sent on loan by Monaco to Lille, and has two goals in 12 games in Ligue 1 this season
