Nottingham Forest fans appear largely enthused about the rumours that Gus Poyet could be their next manager.
The Nottingham Post have reported that Forest are close to appointing Poyet, and the Uruguayan is now the favourite to take over at the City Ground.
Poyet is currently out of work following his his departure from AEK Athens earlier this year, and it is believed that the 47-year-old is close to landing the job at the Midlands club.
Forest have been stuck in mid table in the Championship for most of this season, and if Poyet is to become the club’s next manager he will be tasked with ensuring that they make a better go at the play offs next time around.
The majority of Reds supporters believe that the former Chelsea and Tottenham player would be able to take them forward.
Poyet has proven his ability to manage in the Championship before with Brighton, and he has even had success in the Premier League with Sunderland.
The bulk of Forest supporters seem to feel that Poyet is the best option that they can hope for, and they are hoping he is in charge at the City Ground next term.
Fed up of Birtles flapping his gums. His opinion's largely irrelevant. Poyet is better than our basket case of a club should expect. #nffc— Sutton@NFFC (@mac123_m) May 3, 2016
Kenny Burns was a great player for #nffc but he does spout some bilge. Poyet isn't an average manager - he's a good manager as we've seen— AJ (@Lad87Red) May 3, 2016
Love Kenny Burns but have to say, he's clueless sometimes. Poyet would be brilliant #nffc— NFFCGlory (@NffcGlory) May 3, 2016
I hope #nffc appoint Poyet and not Steve Evans. It's pointless appointing someone who the fans despise before he's even got here— AJ (@Lad87Red) May 1, 2016
