Alex Lopez has expressed his delight on Twitter, after being named as Sheffield Wednesday’s Player of the Month for April.
Lopez took 39 per cent of the fans’ vote, beating off competition from the likes of Barry Bannan and Fernando Forestieri.
Lopez played in all seven matches that Wednesday participated in during April, and he enjoyed his best run since signing for the Yorkshire club last summer.
The Spanish midfielder, who is on loan from Celta Vigo, has been used in a rotational role throughout his time at Hillsborough so far, but his performances have caught the eye recently.
Lopez has now given Carlos Carvalhal a selection dilemma, as Wednesday head into the play offs.
It was expected that Lopez would have been used from the bench in the promotion deciding fixtures, but his run of impressive games recently has brought him into starting contention.
Wednesday have one more game left in their regular Championship season, which comes against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.
The Owls will take on either Brighton & Hove Albion or Middlesbrough in the play off semi-final.
