David Sullivan: West Ham United are now the 'Champions of London'

West Ham United have taken 14 points from matches against their London rivals this season.

Co-owner David Sullivan has told Sky Sports that West Ham United are now the Champions of London, due to their results this season.

West Ham have had an impressive record against their London rivals in the Premier League this term and they have collected 14 points from matches against their fellow capital clubs.

That record is better than any of the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Crystal Palace or Tottenham Hotspur have been able to manage.

And Sullivan said: “We are champions of London. If you did a league of all five London teams, we are champions. We have 14 points which is better than anybody else. We are champions of London now.”

West Ham’s strong record in London derbies has helped them along in their push for a European spot.

Slaven Bilic’s side have been highly impressive this season, and they are still in with a chance of claiming a top four place.

The Hammers are currently in sixth position in the Premier League table, but they are hot on the heels of Manchester City.

West Ham are only five points behind City, and they also have a game in hand over Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

The Hammers' final three fixtures this season come against Swansea City, Manchester United and Stoke City.
