Tottenham's Christian Eriksen says he has been in touch with Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel since their title win.
As the football world tries to understand just how Claudio Ranieri's side managed to outfox the rest of the Premier League, the players on both sides are taking it all in.
Despite tempers flaring against Chelsea, since the game Tottenham's players have been full of class and dignity, congratulating Leicester City and reflecting on their previous missed chances.
Christian Eriksen is one of them, and he told The Mail he has been in touch with Danish international teammate Kasper Schmeichel.
He also added that Schmeichel's mood was predictably joyous, and gave no hint at all that the goalkeeper tried to gloat at all.
He said: "It is exceptional what they have done,’ Eriksen said on Tuesday. ‘I can only credit them for what they have done and achieved
"I texted Schmeichel to say congratulations and he was happy. I could feel that in his text message. He was really happy. They definitely deserve it."
While Leicester have won this year's title, Spurs' core of talented young players ensures they will be in the mix for years to come, and will likely be better for this experience, expected to strengthen over the summer.
