Tottenham Hotspur could only manage a 2-2 draw against Chelsea yesterday.
Spurs and Chelsea played out a 2-2 draw in a fierce battle at Stamford Bridge yesterday.
Tottenham had raced into a 2-0 lead in the first half, with Kane and Heung Min-Son both hitting the back of the net with well placed finishes.
However, as tempers started to fray, Spurs’ lost their discipline and they allowed Chelsea back into the match.
The Blues scored through Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard to rescue a point, and ensure that Spurs’ dreams of winning the Premier League were over.
Chelsea fans and players were delighted at the full-time whistle, but Kane felt that the celebrations were a positive for Spurs.
“When the ex-champions are celebrating like they have won the league tonight, it shows that we’re doing something right,” the England international said. “We’ve got a great bunch of lads and a great manager. We’ve just got to keep that and keep moving forward.”
Tottenham’s remaining matches this season come against Southampton and Newcastle United.
They will be under pressure to ensure that their standards do not slip, after missing out on the title, as they look to protect their position in second place of the Premier League table.
