Jurgen Klopp is expected to be busy in the summer transfer window.
The Reds are expected to be busy this summer, as many anticipate manager Jurgen Klopp reshaping his squad to better suit how he wants his side to play.
Several big names have already been linked, with Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze a persistent rumoured target over recent months.
Liverpool will not be the only ones looking to make signings though, with Manchester City and Chelsea welcoming new managers, and the likes of Arsenal, West Ham United and even Tottenham Hotspur expected to spend.
And McManaman says because of that, Liverpool fans cannot go overboard in their anticipation of signings.
“Everybody is waiting to see whom he [Klopp] brings in,” he told Fletch and Sav. “If the season finishes on a high, there will be a lot of positivity from the fans but you have to remember that you can’t go overboard.
“We know Pep [Guardiola] and [Antonio] Conte are going to come and Manchester United may have a new manager, so there’s going to be a huge amount of chaos in the summer.”
This summer is certainly gearing up to be an interesting one for Liverpool as Klopp sets about assessing his current squad.
While a number of arrivals have been anticipated, similarly important will be the players he can manage to move on to other clubs.
Christian Benteke in particular seems to be headed for the exit door after a disappointing year, and getting good money for him and others could be key to Liverpool's plans.
