Should Tottenham Hotspur change tact and bring in 35-year-old goal-machine Aritz Aduriz?

The veteran is hitting his prime in his golden years.

Last night saw Tottenham Hotspur miss out on the Premier League title with a 2-2 draw at Chelsea handing the title to Leicester City.

Now the focus must turn to next season as Spurs look to build on their promising season in both domestic and European football.

One position that needs to be addressed is in the striking department.

Harry Kane is currently the only out-and-out striker at the club and Spurs need to bring in another option.

Of course Mauricio Pochettino prefers to bring in young talent but should he break the mould this summer and make a move for Athletic Bilbao’s golden oldie Aritz Aduriz?

The Spanish international is 35-years-old but is currently playing football like he is ten years younger.

He has scored 34 goals in 50 appearances this season and scored 24 in 46 last term – so age is being kind to this player who is currently enjoying an Indian summer.

Similar in style to Kane he would not be expensive, because of his age, and would not be able to demand a lengthy contract.

Perfect to fit into Tottenham’s style of play and affordable perhaps Aduriz is one of the missing pieces that Spurs need this summer.
