Fulham midfielder Scott Parker revealed on the Live Ford Monday Night Football show on Sky Sports 1 on Monday evening (broadcast from 7pm, May 2) that he had a doubt about Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
Parker was on the books of Tottenham from 2011 to 2013, while Kane has been at the North London outfit his entire professional career so far.
The 35-year-old midfielder, who has scored one goal and created 16 chances in 22 Championship appearances for Fulham, has revealed the doubt he had about the England international striker.
“I would be lying if I said I thought he would turn out to be the striker he is today,” Parker said on the Live Ford Monday Night Football show on Sky Sports 1 on Monday evening (broadcast from 7pm, May 2).
“Certainly at times when I was at Spurs, Harry would be training with us. One doubt I had about Harry was in terms of his athleticism, how he got across the ground, how he moved.
“He always scored goals, always nicked a couple of goals in five-a-side, but I used to look at him and just worry whether in the modern day if he would be able to get away from players.”
Kane played on loan at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City, but he did not have great success at any club.
It was only last season that the 22-year-old started to show his quality, and he has gone from strength to strength since.
The youngster scored 21 goals and created 27 chances in 34 Premier League appearances for Tottenham last season.
So far this campaign, Kane has scored 25 goals and created 41 chances in 36 Premier League matches for the North London outfit.
