Newcastle United flop Florian Thauvin reportedly being tracked by Lazio and Inter Milan

Florian Thauvin

The Frenchman has struggled since making a move to Tyneside.

Reports today are suggesting that Newcastle United flop Florian Thauvin is being watched by Italian clubs Lazio and Inter Milan ahead of a potential winter move.

Le Phoceen reports today that both Italian clubs are interested in the player – despite a poor season in both the Premier League and Ligue 1.

The Frenchman has struggled for any real form this season.

Thauvin has played just 420 minutes of football for Newcastle United since joining the club in the summer in a deal reported by the Daily Mail to be worth around £12 million plus a loan deal for Remy Cabella.

Since heading back to Marseille he has not been able to rekindle any real form – although he did score the vital goal that saw Marseille into the French Cup final.

The report however states that Newcastle are not interested in keeping Thauvin for next season after his disappointing stint at the club and that Marseille are not keen on keeping hold of him either.

With that in mind the two Italian clubs would seemingly have a very high chance of getting hold of the player this summer.
