Norwich City are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship.
Former Newcastle United striker Michael Owen suggested on the Matchday Live with Fletch & Sav show on BT Sport 1 on Sunday morning (broadcast from 10am, May 1) that Norwich City will get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Norwich, who got promoted from the second tier of English football via the playoffs at the end of last season, are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment.
The Canaries have picked up just 31 points from 35 matches, two fewer than 17th-placed Newcastle, although they have a game.
Sunderland are currently third from bottom in the league table and are very much in danger of going down to the Championship.
Former Newcastle and Liverpool striker Owen believes that Norwich will get relegated.
“It is looking like Norwich are sliding away because they have got a bit of a tough run-in,” said the former England international on the Matchday Live with Fletch & Sav show on BT Sport 1 on Sunday morning (broadcast from 10am, May 1). “It’s going to be one of two, I think, Sunderland or Newcastle.”
Norwich’s recent performances and results have been disappointing, and they do look like a team who are going down.
The positive for Alex Neil’s side is that they have a game in hand, although it will be tough for them to get too many points from their final three matches.
The Canaries will face Manchester United and Watford at Carrow Road and Everton away from home at Goodison Park.
