Havard Nordtveit suggests he might cry in farewell to Borussia Monchengladbach fans

The Norwegian international is set to join West Ham in the summer on a free transfer.

West Ham United are already starting to make moves in the transfer market for the summer – with Norwegian star Havard Nordtveit joining the club.

It has been heavily reported that Nordtveit will be joining the club on a Bosman after the former Arsenal youngster confirmed he would not be extending his contract with current club Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer.

Now he has been speaking about his upcoming farewell to his current supporters.

Nordtveit will feature in his final game for Gladbach at home this weekend against Bayer Leverkusen.

The Norwegian told Bild this week that the occasion might even bring a tear to his eye:

"The game will be very special for me. I remember when Marc-Andre ter Stegen came to us before his last game with moist eyes in the player-circle on the pitch.

"It was very difficult and emotional even for me. I can also cry - that's not a problem for me.

"I hope to say goodbye with a goal - that would be a dream!"

Nortdveit has impressed in Germany since making the move from Arsenal in 2011 and the Norwegian international will be hoping to have more of an impact on English football this time around.

HITC Sport reported that Nordtveit had agree a pre-contract with West Ham in the summer and it is believed he will be one of the new faces on show at the Olympic Stadium from next season.


Hopefully he can sign off at his current club with a goal this weekend.
