Bristol City are set to hand manager Lee Johnson a huge war chest to try and push for Premier League promotion and their main target is Henri Lansbury, HITC Sport understands.
The Nottingham Forest captain has a price tag of £6 million and that will not put off The Robins, who are looking to make a firm assault on the top-flight next season.
They tried last summer to land a number of targets including Andre Gray - who turned down a move to Ashton Gate, before joining Burnley.
But City have solidified their place in the Championship, they are confident they can persuade big names to make the move to the club - which with stadium development also well underway, have set their sights firmly on the top-flight.
And sources have confirmed to HITC Sport, that Lansbury, who has just over 12-months left on his current deal, is their top target.
He has been the subject of numerous bids in the last 12-months, but Johnson is confident of persuading him to make the move to Bristol.
Johnson has been given the green-light to add a number of big name signings this summer and has also targeted Chelsea's Patrick Bamford, Preston's Josh Brownhill and Bolton pair Josh Vela and Zac Clough.
