Dean Saunders suggested on the Matchday Live with Fletch & Sav show on BT Sport 1 on Sunday morning (broadcast from 10am, May 1) that Liverpool should make a move for Leicester City duo Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez.
The former Liverpool striker made the suggestion while discussing about signings that the Merseyside outfit could make in the summer transfer window.
“I would consider taking Mahrez and Vardy,” said Saunders.
Mahrez and Vardy have been two of the best players in the Premier League this season, and have been key to Leicester winning the league title.
England international striker Vardy has scored 22 goals and created 45 chances in 34 league matches for the Foxes this campaign.
Algeria international winger Mahrez has scored 17 goals and created 56 chances in 35 Premier League games for Leicester.
Liverpool are a much bigger club than Leicester, but it is hard to see the duo leave Claudio Ranieri’s side for the Reds in the summer transfer window.
After all, Mahrez and Vardy have just won the Premier League title and will play in the Champions League next season.
Why would the duo leave all that and join a club that may end up playing in the Europa League during the 2016-17 campaign?
