Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Chris Willock's match-winning display in U21 play-offs

The 18-year-old scored twice as the Gunners, whose side featured first team stars Tomas Rosicky and Santi Cazorla, sealed their place in the Division Two play-off final.

An experienced Arsenal Under-21 side beat their Blackburn Rovers counterparts 2-1 on Tuesday night to progress to the Division Two play-off final.

Senior internationals Tomas Rosicky, Santi Cazorla and Calum Chambers all started for Steve Gatting's side at the Emirates Stadium.

But it was a player nearly half the former pair's age who stole the headlines, as teenage winger Chris Willock struck either side of Joe Rankin-Costello's equaliser for Blackburn.

Arsenal are now only a win over Aston Villa away from promotion to Division One, where the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs await.

Willock, who signed his first professional contract with the Gunners a year ago, has impressed in the Under-21s and twice made the bench for Arsene Wenger's first team this season.

After the success of Hector Bellerin and Alex Iwobi in recent campaigns, the England Under-18 international, who operates predominantly from the left flank cutting in, could be the next Arsenal youngster to break through at senior level.

And some fans certainly think so. Here's how Willock's display was received on Twitter...
