Eric Dier could easily have been sent off for Tottenham in their draw with Chelsea.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier was lucky to stay on the pitch as his side drew 2-2 at Chelsea.
Spurs had been pegged back from a two goal lead, and saw their title chances evaporate, against a side only too happy to revel in their misery.
Dier responded with a couple of crunching challenges late on, and was handed a booking but was fortunate to avoid a second.
He had been a doubt heading into the game after going off injured against West Brom a week earlier, but was passed fit to start.
Dier had been a revelation this season after switching into central midfield, forming a fearsome trio with Mousa Dembele and Dele Alli.
Despite appearing to lose his head late on against Chelsea, he was efficient on the ball, completing 90 per cent of his passes. He made five tackles during the draw, with one interception.
His tough tackling certainly did not cause Tottenham fans to think any less of him, in fact in endeared him even further to supporters.
