Everton manager Roberto Martinez has suggested to The Daily Mail that the club will be very active in the summer transfer window.
Martinez has claimed that the Toffees could be as busy as they were in the summer of 2013 when they signed a number of players.
Arouna Kone, Antolin Alcaraz, Joel Robles and James McCarthy moved to the Merseyside outfit on permanent contracts that summer, while Gerard Deulofeu, Gareth Barry and Romelu Lukaku switched to Goodison Park on loan.
“Is this a massive transfer window coming up?” Martinez told The Daily Mail. “It is. Massive. Probably as big as the summer window in 2013. We have to be stronger at the end of it.”
Everton are one of the biggest clubs in England and have established themselves as a regular in the Premier League.
Perhaps it is now time for the Toffees to take the next step and start pushing for the top six more regularly.
Martinez has come under pressure from the fans this season due to Everton’s disappointing results and performances in the Premier League.
Everton are 11th in the Premier League table at the moment and may not even in the top 10 this season.
