Gary Gardner

Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley are reportedly interested in Aston Villa-owned Nottingham Forest midfielder Gary Gardner.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley are interested in signing Gary Gardner from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window, according to Teamtalk.

Gardner is on loan at Championship side Nottingham Forest at the moment, but he is scheduled to return to his parent club Villa at the end of the season.

The Villans have already been relegated from the Premier League and will play in the Championship during the 2016-17 campaign.

It has not been reported by Teamtalk if Brighton and Burnley want to sign the midfielder on loan or on a permanent contract in the summer transfer window.

Gardner has been on the books of Villa his entire professional career so far and has a contract until June 2018.

The 23-year-old midfielder is a very talented player and has proved himself in the Championship, although his performances for Forest this season have been mixed.

The former England Under-21 international has scored one goal and created seven chances in 18 league matches for the Reds.

Gardner has a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 31%, and has won 46 headers, 11 dribbles and 25 tackles.

Burnley have already been promoted to the Premier League for the 2016-17 campaign, while Brighton could join them in the English top flight next season.
