The co-commentator on West Ham United's 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion came out with one of the funniest lines of the season.

The sixth-placed Hammers are flying high this season and have impressed fans and pundits alike by mounting a serious challenge for the Champions League places.

Bilic has reinvigorated the East Londoners and with stars such as Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini, the Hammers are playing the 'West Ham way' once more.

The club narrowly missed out on a trip to Wembley after being held by a late goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford before losing 2-1 in the replay at Upton Park.

A fantastic 3-0 over the Baggies at the Hawthorns last time out kept the Hammers on course for European football, a quest they resume against Swansea this weekend.

Best Premier League season ever... and the future is bright too

This is now officially West Ham's best ever season in the Premier League era.

And the signs are good for the future too with the campaign also notable for the emergence of the club's youngest ever player Reece Oxford.

The supremely talented teenager made his debut with a midfield masterclass in a 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates in the opening game of the season aged just 16.

He has been used sparingly since with Bilic keen to protect his young charge.

But one such occasion when he was dipped back into the side came against West Brom with the Hammers leading 3-0.

Hilarious line from co-commentator

Oxford came on for the last 10 minutes and as the towering 6ft 5in 17-year-old made his entrance it was met with a brilliant line from co-commentator and former Derby County star Dean Sturridge.

The diminutive striker-turned-pundit, who is the uncle of Liverpool and England star Daniel, was shocked at Oxford's stature up close and remarked: "Oxford is some specimen, he looks like he's been sleeping in a greenhouse."

An even more frightening prospect for opposing teams is that the young England star still has another four years of growing left in him yet!
