According to The Sun, Crystal Palace are plotting an ambitious summer move for Saido Berahino.
The report states that the West Bromwich Albion forward will snub any attempts to renew his contract which is set to expire in 2017, and Palace are among of clubs eager to strike a potential bargain deal.
The 22-year-old has long been linked with a West Brom exit, and he came close to joining Premier League title-chasers Tottenham Hotspur both last summer and during the January transfer window.
In spite of his obvious talent, Berahino hasn’t managed to repeat his success from last season as he just four Premier League goals to his name this term in 30 appearances for the club.
West Brom Tony Pulis remains a big fan of the youngster and will urge him to stay at the Hawthorns, yet it appears the striker has his heart set on a move away from the West Midlands club.
Palace haven’t had the best of times after making a blistering start to the season, any many could see a switch to Selhurst Park as a potential sideways move should a deal be struck.
But having said that, Alan Pardew does have a set of talented players at his disposal and the addition of a regular goal scorer could make the difference as the South London club seek to push on.
With just over 12 months on his contract remaining, Berahino could be available at a snip price this summer.
