Micky Quinn reacts on Twitter to the latest relegation zone twist

Newcastle United, Sunderland and Norwich City were all in action on Saturday.

Former player Micky Quinn took to social networking site Twitter in order to share his feelings on Newcastle United’s victory over Crystal Palace and how it has shaped the Premier League table.

The Magpies headed into the weekend sitting in 19th position in the Premier League table, yet a narrow win over Palace thanks to Andros Townsend’s wonderful free-kick has seen the whole picture change.

Sunderland only managed a 1-1 draw at Stoke City, while Norwich City’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal now sees Newcastle leapfrogging the duo and sitting one place and one point above the drop zone.

Writing on Twitter on Saturday evening, former Newcastle man Quinn could not contain his delight at the day’s proceedings and his feelings will be shared by thousands of the club’s supporters.

Newcastle have now taken eight points from their last four matches, a huge turnaround in form considering they looked all but dead and buried following the 3-2 defeat at Norwich City last month.

Rafa Benitez has turned things around at St. James’ Park, yet there is still plenty left to do as the Toon Army finish the season with a trip to Aston Villa before hosting Tottenham Hotspur.

Sunderland and Norwich both have games in hand on the Toon Army and can overtake them with victory, yet both the Black Cats and the Canaries would undoubtedly prefer to have the points on the board.

There should be many more twists and turns to come, with each club experiencing highs and lows.
