Thierry Henry warns Tottenham that finishing above Arsenal will mean little without the Premier League title.

Thierry Henry has warned Tottenham Hotspur that finishing above Arsenal is not enough to really be proud of.

While he accepts from a Spurs perspective it would be an achievement taking in the fact they have finished behind the Gunners for two decades, Henry says a trophy is needed to really consolidate their best position as top dogs.

Speaking to The Sun, Henry said: "With a new stadium on the horizon and the lure of living in London, Spurs could soon become an attractive proposition for big-name signings.

"This could be the start of a new era for them — but they still have a long journey ahead.

"Finishing above your neighbours is great for local pride, although it doesn’t mean much if you don’t have a trophy to go with it."

Tottenham are clinging to their title hopes by a thread, with Leicester City one win away from clinching the trophy.

Spurs need to win away at Chelsea to keep their hopes alive, already trailing the Foxes by eight points with a game in hand.

Tottenham have three left to play and Leicester too, with Mauricio Pochettino's hopes damaged by a home draw against West Bromwich Albion a week earlier.

They are above Arsenal in the table by two points, but the Gunners have played a game more.
