Matt Le Tissier poses an interesting theory about Everton

Manager Roberto Martinez is under increasing pressure at Goodison Park.

If Everton were to flip their home form with their away form, Roberto Martinez would not be in as much trouble, Matt Le Tissier has told Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, broadcast on April 30.

The Blue boss is under increasing pressure at Goodison Park after another disappointing season for his side.

They currently sit 11th in the table and unlikely to finish in the top half, a position far below where many believe a squad of their ability should be.

The blame has been firmly placed on the Spaniard with many calling for him to be replaced, but Le Tissier says he would not be in half as much trouble if you were to flip their home form with their away form.

“Away from home they don’t lose many football matches,” he told Soccer Saturday. “But because the majority of your fans are in the home stadium, that’s where his problem is and that’s why he’s in so much trouble, because of their performances at Goodison Park this season.

“I think if you flipped Everton’s home and their away form this season, I don’t think he’d be in half as much trouble as he is.”

There is no denying that Everton’s home form has been what has caused most of the ire from their fans this season.

They have managed just five wins at Goodison Park all season, and coupling that with eight losses, it is easy to see why the Toffees fans have lost faith in the management.

It is not just the home form that they are annoyed with though, with a number of other factors also disappointing them, suggesting that even if results were flipped as Le Tissier suggest they would still be calling for change.
