Newcastle United won against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.

Newcastle United winger Andros Townsend has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to his side’s victory over Crystal Palace at home on Saturday afternoon.

The Magpies returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Palace at St. James’ Park.

Townsend, who joined Newcastle from North London outfit Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window, scored the only goal of the match just before the hour mark.

The England international winger has taken to Twitter to revel in the win and to praise goalkeeper Karl Darlow, who saved Yohan Cabaye’s penalty.

Newcastle goalkeeper Robert Elliot, currently on the sidelines due to injury, has also praised Darlow on Twitter.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon, hosts Newcastle had 50% of the possession, took 10 shots of which four were on target, and earned four corners.

Rafael Benitez’s side are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment with 33 points from 36 matches.

The Magpies are a point clear of the relegation zone, although both Norwich City and Sunderland, who are also in danger of going down to the Championship, have a game in hand.
