West Ham are interested in signing defender Bruno Godeau, reports Belgian website Voetball Nieuws.
The report claims West Ham sent scouts to watch Godeau in action for KV Oostende in their Jupiler Pro League match against Zulte Waregem.
Godeau, 23, is a former Belgian under-21 international and plays at centre-back.
A sticking point for West Ham could be that Godeau only signed for Oostende in January, but it is hard to see the Belgian side resisting a decent offer.
Godeau began his career with Anderlecht but left after failing to break into their first team and has forged a solid career for himself since, also overcoming a series of injuries.
A move for Godeau would ask questions over West Ham's plans for Reece Burke, who has impressed out on loan at Bradford City this past season, and hopes to challenge for a place in the Hammers first team in 2016/17.
