West Ham United defeated West Bromwich Albion 3-0 at the Hawthorns.

West Ham United chairman David Gold has taken to social networking site Twitter in order to lavish praise on his players and club’s supporters following the 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

The Hammers kept their slim hopes of a top four spot alive with a crushing win over the Baggies, with midfielders Cheikhou Kouyate and Mark Noble (2) getting in among the goals.

The victory secures West Ham’s best ever Premier League points tally, while Dimitri Payet became the first player since Paolo Di Canio to record at least ten assists in a single campaign for the club.

Commenting on Twitter after the game, Gold was understandably in buoyant mood as he singled out trio Winston Reid, Kouyate and Payet as three outstanding performers along with the fans.

West Ham’s victory now leaves them on 59 points, five points adrift of Manchester City in fourth spot.

Slaven Bilic has done a remarkable job in his debut season, and had it not been for a mini-slump and Dimitri Payet’s absence with injury in mid-season, the Hammers would probably be in the top four now.

The East London club have plenty of potential and reason to be excited for next season, and supporters can eagerly look forward to what promises to be an interesting summer ahead of the Olympic Stadium move.
