The former Leicester boss is wanted in Trabzon.
Aston Villa are currently on the hunt for a new manager after Remi Garde was given the heave-ho in March. The Frenchman had taken over from Tim Sherwood, who himself was sent packing earlier in the season.
One of the big favourites to get the Aston Villa job is Nigel Pearson.
The former Leicester City boss has been out of work since guiding The Foxes to Premier League survival last season but then leaving the club after a fall-out with the club’s owners.
Of course Leicester have gone on to challenge for the Premier League title and Pearson has been credited with laying some of those foundations whilst the incredible turnaround of last season also increased Pearson’s reputation.
So whilst Villa are keen on the player another team is also said to have put him on their shortlist.
Turkish side Trabzonspor are said to be keeping tabs on the Villa target.
Pearson is on a four-man shortlist with Mircea Lucescu, Paulo Fonseca and Juande Ramos for the Trabzonspor job, according to Sabah.
Like Villa the Turkish side have got through two managers this season with Shota Arveladze and Sadi Tekeliogu being discarded throughout the campaign.
So it would be a similar job, except in the Turkish top-flight and not the English second-tier.
