Report: Tottenham Hotspur highest bidder in fight to sign Ajax winger Eros Maddy in February 2017

Chelsea and Manchester City are also said to be keen.

Tottenham Hotspur have been credited recently for their utilisation of their young players but that does not just mean bringing through local talent.

The club have also got a fantastic scouting system which has seen some very talented players brought in from abroad over the years.

Now it would appear they have their eye on yet another, according to Goal in the Netherlands.

They are reporting that Tottenham are leading the way in the hunt for Ajax youngster Eros Maddy.

The report claims that Chelsea and Manchester City are also keen on the player but that Spurs are currently the highest bidder in an approach for his services.

But this deal would not be imminent.

Maddy is still only 15 and cannot sign a professional deal until February next year, when he turns 16. It is believed he could sign on at Ajax but that Spurs are hopeful he will head over to continue his development at Hotspur Way.

Maddy is a talented winger who has played for the Dutch youth team at under-15 level and joined Ajax in 2014 from Sparta Rotterdam.
