The BBC pundit has become public enemy number one at West Ham.
Mark Lawrenson has certainly not been popular with West Ham fans this season, mainly due to his continually abysmal predictions about their performances this term.
If Lawro’s predictions had come to light, then The Hammers would be on the brink of relegation and would have been knocked out of the FA Cup by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Instead the Hammers have fought for a top-four finish and made the quarter-finals of the cup.
This weekend West Ham take on West Brom at The Hawthorns and once again, almost inexplicably now, Lawro has predicted that West Ham will lose the game.
He is backing the Baggies to win this game 2-1, a result which in his alternative universe would have surely relegated West Ham to the Championship by now.
He told the BBC about his prediction:
“West Ham have had an outstanding season but they are out of the FA Cup and have fallen out of contention for a top-four place too.
“Their season will not just peter out because they will want to give Upton Park a big send-off with their last couple of home games against Swansea and Manchester United before they move to the Olympic Stadium - but I am not sure what to expect from them at The Hawthorns.
“West Brom ended a run of three straight defeats with a draw against Tottenham on Monday.
“Tony Pulis' side never seem to have to wait too long to pick up a point - and when they get one decent result they tend to get two or three on the bounce.”
West Ham fans are not likely to be irate by this latest prediction, surely now they see the funny side of his continually incorrect estimates of Hammers results.
West Ham fans will be hoping for a positive result to ensure they remain in the hunt for a European spot for next season.
