The Irish youngster seemed to impress Villa fans, despite a 3-2 loss.
Aston Villa took on Watford today and for a moment it looked like they might actually pick up a rare win.
Goals from Ciaran Clark and Jordan Ayew looked to have earned Villa the win before a red card from Aly Cissokho cost them dearly.
The Frenchman made a challenge as the last man and was sent for an early bath.
Troy Deeney, a boyhood Birmingham City fan, then scored two late goals to condemn the Premier League’s basement club to another loss.
But there was a bonus from the game, as Aston Villa fans were impressed with the performance of full debutant Kevin Toner.
The Irishman, who recently made his debut for the club, started the game as part of a three-man defence and seemed to do enough to impress the Aston Villa fans with an assured performance.
The likes of Toner will be tasked with making an impact with the club next season in the Championship as Villa look to earn immediate promotion back to the Premier League.
Here is how Aston Villa fans reacted to the performance of Toner…

Sounds like Toner having a good game. There you go you see. Young players don't need so much protection #avfc— Shelley (@shelley_ozzy) April 30, 2016
Kevin Toner has been terrific for Villa this afternoon. Also showed plenty of fight. Could be an important player next season #avfc— - Jamie White - (@jaywhite_1) April 30, 2016

Kevin Toner has been solid, almost topped it with a goal... touch wood #avfc— sam (@SmithUTV_) April 30, 2016
Fans sounded class as usual today. Toner looked good. We looked half decent for some of the game. Still gutted #avfc— Felicity Johnson (@FlicJohnsonGolf) April 30, 2016
Seems like Toner is being given a pass because he is a youngster. Whether he is 19 or 33 he lost his head just as much as the others. #avfc— Andrew Ashburn (@AndrewAshburn) April 30, 2016
