The Argentine looks set to commit his future to the club.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have had a difficult week. The title appears to have slipped out of their reach, Dele Alli is suspended for the rest of the season and then Mauricio Pochettino admitted he’d consider taking the Paris Saint-Germain job.
However, Pochettino has now gone and made many a Tottenham fans weekend by announcing he has verbally agreed a new contract at the club until 2021.
He told his press conference today, as reported by the BBC:
"It was an easy decision when you feel the love of the people and the potential of the club is massive, so why change?
"We create a good atmosphere on the training ground and I think we can achieve big things in the future. I believe in this project and this club. I want to stay here."
This is of course fantastic news for Spurs fans who have been fretting over the long-term future of their manager for some time now.
Pochettino has been linked with the Manchester United job for some time now after working wonders at Southampton and now Spurs.
He guided Spurs to a fifth place finish in his first season in charge and this year it looks as though they will finish in second, but most importantly ahead of their rivals Arsenal.
The Argentine has also won many plaudits for the way he has utilised youth – with the likes of Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Dele Alli becoming stars in this Spurs team.
Obviously the news caused hysterics from Tottenham fans across Twitter.
Here is some of the best reaction…
