Report: Liverpool and Manchester City chasing teenage starlet Jonathan Ikone

The Paris Saint-Germain attacker is wanted by a host of elite clubs all across Europe.

Liverpool and Manchester City are looking to secure the signature of teenager Jonathan Ikone from Paris Saint-Germain, reports France Football.

However, according to L’Equipe, the Premier League duo face competition from Italian giants Juventus.

The 17-year-old PSG youth-teamer can play play both centrally and out wide in midfield and impressed for the Ligue 1 champions during their runner-up finish in the UEFA Youth League.

The mobile left-footed midfielder scored once in his eight appearances during the competition, netting his only goal against Shakhtar Donetsk in the 5-2 group stage victory.

With competition for a first-team place tough to acquire in the French capital, Ikone could be tempted to look elsewhere to ply his trade.

He may be encouraged by the progress of Kingsley Coman following his move from PSG to Juventus, albeit his development has most certainly increased under Pep Guardiola’s tutelage at Bayern Munich.

France Football state that both the Reds and City are interested in the talented playmaker, with the ambition of snapping him up on a free transfer.

According to L’Equipe, the Serie A champions have made an approach for the youngster, and his representatives are currently mulling over the key decision of where is best for him to continue his career.
