Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Danny Ings tribunal fee

The Reds may have to pay up to £8million to Burnley for the forward.

Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter after it was revealed how much the club will have to pay Burnley for striker Danny Ings.

The forward joined the club on a free transfer last summer, but as he was under the age of 23, the Clarets were due a compensation fee.

The two clubs could not come to an agreement over what that price should be, and a such a tribunal was forced to decide upon the fee they must play.

They have decided that £6.5million should be initial payment, with a further £1.5million to come based on performances, while the Lancashire club will also receive 20% of any future sell on fee.

The initial price breaks the record previously set by Daniel Sturridge’s move from Manchester City to Chelsea, and could become the biggest in history should he ever leave Anfield.

Following the announcement of the news, Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter and the general consensus seems to be that the club have gotten a bargain.

Ings will now be keen to get back to full fitness, having missed this season through injury, and not only prove himself to Jurgen Klopp, but also prove the price Liverpool are paying is a bargain as their fans suggest.
