Report: Willian subject to interest from ex-Chelsea boss in China

A big money offer could be tabled.

Chelsea star Willian is subject to interest from Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

The Mirror claims that Chelsea could receive an offer of around £50 million for the Brazilian. Guangzhou Evergrande are currently managed by former Chelsea and Brazil boss Luis Felipe Scolari.

However, any Chelsea fans that are worried about losing the Brazilian should be assured that the player widely regarded as the Blues' best performer this season wants to remain at Stamford Bridge, and is very much part of incoming manager Antonio Conte's plans going forward - though other players are due to be offloaded this summer.

The report does state, however, that a new contract has been on the table for some time - worth £120,000 per week - but the 27-year-old has yet to put pen to paper on the deal, while the offer from China could be double what he is being offered right now.

Given the riches in China right now, it is certainly appealing for any kind of player that would like a vast pay day.

Willian has been one of few players to emerge from Chelsea's season with some kind of credit, and one would hope that he wouldn't toss away that credit purely for a big money move. Given his talents he is likely to be a big player for Antonio Conte in the near future.
