Don Hutchison has warned Tottenham Hotspur supporters that Mauricio Pochettino’s verbal agreement means nothing until he has actually signed a new contract.
Pochettino stated at his press conference today that he has agreed a new deal with Daniel Levy which will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2021.
The news has been met with joy by Spurs fans, who are delighted that the Argentine will be staying in North London for the long-term.
However, Hutchison has warned them not to get too excited about Pochettino’s announcement yet, as he has not put pen to paper.
“Verbally” agreeing a new contract means jack!— Don Hutchison (@donhutch4) April 29, 2016
Until it’s signed it don’t mean a thing.
I Done it myself once, sold soon after.
Pochettino’s reputation has been enhanced hugely due to the job he has done at Tottenham.
It has taken the 44-year-old boss two years to transform a team which appeared to be on the slide into Premier League title contenders.
Pochettino has brought through a number of Tottenham’s young players, and the squad he has assembled at White Hart Lane looks hugely exciting.
Tottenham are currently in second place in the Premier League standings, and they still hold on to slim hopes of catching top of the table Leicester City.
