Three Premier League clubs who could sign Aston Villa's Jordan Amavi this summer

Trinity Road Stand - Aston Villa

The French left back is being tipped to feature in a Villa Park exodus. Could Newcastle United, Arsenal or West Bromwich Albion take a punt?

A report in the Sun claims Jordan Amavi is likely to leave Aston Villa if an offer comes in for him this summer.

The injured Frenchman has been one of few positives in a wretched season for Villa, and would be a loss as the club looks to bounce back at the first time of asking next season.

The Villains shelled out a reported £10 million for Amavi last summer, and the left-back was said to be on France's radar at the time - making him a potential bargain for someone, once fit.

Perhaps even one of the following...

Newcastle United

The Magpies are battling relegation themselves, but with a couple of positive results behind them and some favourable fixtures to come (including a trip to Villa Park) survival seems a far more realistic ask than it did a few weeks back.

Left-back has been a problem area for them this season, with Massadio Haidara injured and midfielders Jack Colback and Rolando Aarons often having to deputise.

When fit, Amavi would walk straight in at St. James' Park - but Newcastle would need to stay up, you'd think.

West Bromwich Albion

A four-mile hop to The Hawthorns would certainly have its benefits, but the main drawback here could be Tony Pulis' complete aversion to full-backs.

Sebastien Pocognoli and Christian Gamboa have made seven Baggies appearances combined this season, with centre-backs and, in Chris Brunt's case, wingers often preferred instead.

However, with manager Pulis yet to sign a new contract and many fans keen to see the back of the Welshman, this could still happen.

Arsenal

Swapping Villa Park for the Emirates would be the very definition of landing on your feet, but this wouldn't be as mad as it seems.

According to the Mail, Amavi was a target for the Gunners while at Nice, but the presence of Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs seemingly nullified their interest.

Gibbs, however, has been tipped to leave this summer and Amavi could be the perfect understudy for Monreal, who recently entered his thirties.
