The two sides meet in the first leg of their semi-final tonight, but who comes out on top in the combined XI?
The Reds have been made favourites to win the Europa League semi-final clash, given that they beat former tournament favourites Borussia Dortmund in the last round.
The La Liga side are no pushovers though, currently sitting fourth in the table and having performed well at home, with a win over Real Madrid and a draw with Barcelona notable results.
Arguably Liverpool do have the better squad though, and a stats based XI confirms that as the Reds fill all but three positions in the side compiled by Oulala.
Not in goal though, as Alphonse Areola beats Simon Mignolet, coming out on top in all six of the statistical areas covered.
It is better news in defence though, as Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren and Alberto Moreno all make it in, although Eric Bailly manages to fight off competition from Kolo Toure.
Klopp’s team dominates the midfield as they occupy all five positions, with Lucas Leiva, James Milner, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho all selected.
Up front is something of a shock though as Cedric Bakambu manages to get in ahead of Daniel Sturridge, although given the latter has played 20 fewer games, perhaps it is not that surprising.
